You can stop in to speak with an adoption counselor Tuesday-Friday between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM or on Saturday between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
Before you can adopt, you’ll need to fill out an application. This helps them get to know you, your family, your current pets, and your lifestyle so they can recommend pets that would be a good fit for your home.
All animals adopted through Lake Norman Humane are up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and tested for heartworm disease (dogs) or Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (cats).
They also provide you with an adoption kit that includes a PetSmart welcome kit with coupons, a free new client pet exam with one of their veterinary partners, training tools and a discount with their training partner, and tips for introducing your new pet to your home.
Adoption fees vary according to the age, breed, medical needs, and size of an animal. For example, Forty, a 4-year-old male mixed breed, has an adoption fee of $350. This fee covers all the services mentioned above, which is a great deal!
